The regime is power pulled out all stops in order to engineer the win in the Lok Sabha. One does not expect honesty and patriotism from our MPs, but surely this is the pits. The whole nation was aghast at the sight of MPs showing wads of currency notes to the Speaker in Parliament. ONE hopes that an Inquiry is set up and the Government in power is made accountable for reducing Indian Democracy to the level of a fish market. In fact the UPA has not won at all. The Trust vote exposed the minority character of the regime in power.

I was extremely disappointed at the fact that so many BJP MPs voted for the Congress. How can they betray the confidence of the Party and the electorate in such a shameful manner. In fact the image of the BJP as a disiplined and principled party has taken a solid rap.

Mayawati has emerged as the clear winner. She has become the pole that is attracting the traditional anti congress parties. While it is too early to predict the formation and prospects of a third front, the chances of Mayawati emerging as a key player in the next Lok Sabha cannot be ruled out.

The Congress has violted the spirit of the Consitution by offering ministerial berths to criminals, jailbirds and the like. By surviving at the cost of principle the Congreess has made its survival in the next election difficult.
